Main Task: Set, Costume and Prop Design

Set

We decided to film in Chatham Car Park we didn't really set up much of a set we had one accessory which is visible which is a broken skateboard this was used to show how deserted the place they were meeting in really was we thought the broken skateboard would enhance the feeling of an empty place as somewhere that is regularly attended would not have a broken skateboard and we feel the skateboard emphasized this.

Costume

the Two characters shown in the film are Schwartz Kepp and Koby Johnson and the dress code we set for this was smart but at the same time casual. we chose for their outfit themes because as they are rich from robbing the bank they will dress like the Rich so will obviously look smart but also we had to convey that these characters were of young ages and this is where the casual comes in we feel that the way the two Characters were dressed really reinforced the idea of them being young criminals but ones that are also rich and sophisticated as Koby is more ghetto he puts a spin on the way he wears his outfit and makes more of his own and this adds another convention to the character of Koby for example he has smart dark-blue jeans but wears them a little lower this is to show the ghetto side to his character aswell as his rich and smart side also. Schwartz is a little bit more smarter and wears his clothes in a smart and orderly manner as he has always been a smart character hence his higher education background with a degree in economics. finance. and accounting you can see that Schwartz is very much a smart and posh character but he can still keep things casual as is seen through his costume especially his jacket, backpack and shoes. as these are things that our chosen  audience would wear.

Koby Johnson- Black Mountain Jacket, Slim Black Jeans, White Polo, Black Work Boots
Schwartz Kepp- Green Khaki Jacket, Black slim Jeans, Black Nike Janovskis, Blue Backpack

Prop Design

Only prop included was the broken skateboard.

Main Task: Research into target audience

Our Target audience for our movie we thought should from the age group of 16-24 we picked this age group for our movie because we felt that our movie and the conventions that it displays would appeal most to them before picking our target audience we did extensive profiles on different age groups like 40-60 30-40 etc and after finding out what appeals most to each age group we collectively decided to pick the 16-24 age group as our target audience.

During our research into the 16-24 age group we found out that this group like movies that not only have characters that face similar problems to them but they also like things relevant to them such as hip hop music or r and b and so we decided to include music in our piece as we knew that this would convey to our chosen age group.

the characters are both at the age of 19 and 22 respectively and so we feel that most robbery and heist films have characters which are normally over the age of 30 and so we decided to create characters who were much younger so that they would appeal to our chosen audience we made sure these characters were instantly recognizable as young not only by what they are wearing but in the way they act and the props given to them.

we made sure the criminals looked young so that they would appeal to our chosen audience and we believe that the way we have set up our film that it should apply well to chosen audience prompting them to buy a ticket and see the film but we obviously hope that it reaches other age groups including the 25-40 as there are conventions in our film that could apply to them also.

Main Task: Initial Ideas

Survival
this was our first initial idea and we all agreed that it should have two rich characters who will need to survive with no money for two months and see what life is like through the eyes of those who do not have much money and those who struggle to make ends meet. we decided not to go through with this idea because we could not find a suitable enough location that would convey the conventions of both rich and poor we also snubbed this idea because we did not really have solid plot in a way in which would be able to open the movie so we decided this would not be our real idea as we though it was just no doable.

Living Legend

our other idea was we would create the life of a big sports star who has a had a successful and trophy laden career and we narrowed down the sports he would be successful in to rugby, football and basketball we look at his life but rather than look at his career we look at how he is targeted by gangs, criminals who look to make a name for themselves by taking out one of the biggest names in the sports industry and taking each of his assests not only are his material assests attacked but those close to him are also targeted to make him weak and to adhere to their requests. we decided to not go through with this idea because we didn't know how we were going to make an opening which was exciting for viewers of our film all together decided to not use this idea even though we all agreed if we were doing a full movie this would be the perfect idea for it.

Thug Life

This was going to be  about a boy and his crew who have grown up on the streets of New York and are struggling to make ends meet the movie was made to show how some people get involved in the life of crime and thuganism and that sometimes people have no choice but to become involved in it and people do not choose to become involved this life by choice there are many reasons shown in our film of why people become involved in these things we decided to not go forward with this idea because we did not know how we were going to make this look like like a film rather than a documentary about drugs and crime and so we decided to scrap this idea but we would not rule it out for a future project and played a good role in our idea for our final idea.

Breakout

Breakout is a movie about a prisoner trying to breakout of prison and make a good honest living for himself he has recently found a woman that he wants to marry and live life with but has recently been put in prison for a crime that he did not commit and has been given the sentence of death he has 5 months till his execution date and he decided to break out of the worlds most secure prison and not only prove he is innocent but also gain revenge on who set him up we decided not to do this idea because again we could not find a location suitable that would look like a prison and convey that idea to the viewers so this is idea was dropped.

Smash 'N' Grab

smash 'N' Grab was obviously our final and chosen idea this movie is about 2 criminals  who are the most wanted men for a robbery they have commited and have moved to the capital of London and now 10 years on have made the bank of England their next target these characters will be Koby Johnson Koby is american born and is a former football player won MVP twice will playing for the Cavaliers reserves u15 to u18 turned to crime when he was released by the cavaliers and gave up on his football dream. Schwartz Kepp originally Swiss Born is the brains operation and attended the highest ranking computing school in the world Kingsleigh. so together with Koby bringing the muscle and Schwartz bringing the brains together they make one hell of a team and when they met back in america when Schwartz was visiting they immediately knew they would be a good team and that proved right as they pulled off the biggest heist in history worth $250,000,000 and they team up again to do it all over. this idea was inspired by thug life but also mixed with living legend thus this idea was born and we all liked it so we decided this would be our main task.
